What Veil does

Find out whether your stolen crypto can be reached, who can act on it, and what it would take. Find out whether the amount is worth pursuing before you spend more. Veil traces the money, documents what it found, and supports the lawyer, the exchange, the insurer, or the law enforcement investigator who pursues the recovery. If you need a lawyer, we help you engage one. If the government seizes money from the scam, we help you file the claim. Veil does not recover, freeze, or hold funds, and a firm that promises recovery should be treated with caution.

How We Work

How Veil supports a recovery

01

Assess the path

Veil begins work once you have sent us what you have. We trace the money and find out where it sits now. Some of it lands at an exchange that can freeze the account when a court or the police ask. Some of it ends at a mixer or a privacy coin, and the trail stops there. We tell you which, who would have to act, and whether the amount justifies the legal work. If the honest answer is that it cannot be reached, we say so before you spend more.

02

Prepare the findings

We put the trace in a written report, in plain words with the technical record attached. We format it for whoever will use it. A lawyer needs it to ask a court for a freeze or to file against the account holder. The police need it to open a case and ask the exchange for records. An insurer needs it as proof of loss. Each finding is marked as verified from the record or inferred from patterns.

03

Support the people who act

We send the report to your lawyer, the detective, the exchange, or the claims professional. We join the call when asked and answer their questions on the findings for as long as the matter runs. Our investigators have ongoing working relationships with Treasury, Secret Service, FBI, and IRS investigators. If you do not have a lawyer and the matter needs one, we help you engage counsel. If the government seizes money from the scam, we help you file the claim for your share. If the money moves again, we update the trace.

Capabilities

What Veil brings to a recovery

A straight answer on whether to pursue

Recovery costs money, and the amount lost has to justify it. We tell you whether the money landed somewhere reachable and what pursuing it would take. The decision to go ahead is yours, made with the facts in hand.

How recovery actually happens

A lawyer asks a court to freeze the account or files against the account holder. The police can subpoena the exchange, seize funds, and make arrests. The exchange acts when a court or the police ask it to. We know which route fits your matter and what each of those people needs from the trace.

Law enforcement facilitation

Reports filed through IC3 and other channels often go unanswered until the money is gone. We follow the crypto first and hand law enforcement something actionable to start working on today. Our investigators have ongoing working relationships with Treasury, Secret Service, FBI, and IRS investigators, and the report is written in the form those agencies use.

Facts and Patterns

A report is only useful if the reader knows what it rests on. Each finding is marked as verified from the record or inferred from patterns. The lawyer, the detective, or the exchange then knows which is which.

Direct access to the investigator

You speak with the person doing the work, by phone or video, and you know their name. Our investigators are located in the United States.

Deliverables

What you receive

The recovery assessment

A written answer to four questions: where the money is now, whether it can be reached, who would have to act, and whether the amount justifies the work. If the trail has ended, the assessment says so, and that answer stops you paying another firm to chase it.

The evidence package

The trace report with the wallet addresses and transaction records for each step, formatted for the person who will use it. A lawyer gets what a court needs to consider a freeze. The police get what they need to open a case and ask the exchange for records. An insurer gets proof of loss.

Support through the matter

We answer questions on the findings, join calls with your lawyer or the detective, and update the trace if the money moves again. If the matter needs a lawyer and you do not have one, we help you engage counsel. If the government seizes money from the scam, we help you file the claim for your share, with the trace as the record of your loss.

When recovery support is needed

What drives the matter

People, their families, and the professionals helping them reach out when:

Money went to an investment app or website and the exchange it left through has stopped answering
The police have the report and the case has gone quiet since
A lawyer needs the trail documented before asking a court for a freeze or filing a claim
A recovery service has promised results and the client wants an independent read
The government has seized money from the scam and the victim wants to claim their share
The loss is large and the family wants a straight answer before spending more

100%

Veteran-owned.

1 day

Response from an expert, typically within one business day.

Investigations are run by professionals with military, federal, and regulated-industry backgrounds. Veil does not contact victims first. If someone reached out to you already knowing what you lost, treat that as the second scam and send us what they sent you.

How the work starts

Whether the exchange has gone silent, the police report has gone quiet, a lawyer needs the trail before filing, or someone has promised to get the money back for a fee, tell us what happened and send what you have. An experienced professional will normally respond within one business day with a straight answer on whether the money can be reached and what it would take.

Frequently asked questions

Can Veil get my money back?+

No. Veil does not recover, freeze, or hold funds, and a firm that promises recovery should be treated with caution. We find where the money went and tell you whether it can be reached. Then we give the lawyer, the police, the exchange, or the insurer what they need to act. Some money is recovered that way. Much of it is not. We tell you which is likely before you spend more.

How does crypto recovery actually happen?+

Money that lands at an exchange can be frozen when a court or the police ask the exchange to do it. A lawyer can file against the account holder and ask a court for a freeze or a judgment. The police can subpoena the exchange, seize funds, and make arrests. Money that ends at a mixer or a privacy coin usually cannot be reached.

Is it worth pursuing?+

It depends on where the money is, who has to act, and how the cost compares to the amount lost. We put that in writing so you can decide with the facts in hand. If the trail has ended, we say so before you spend more.

How is this different from crypto tracing?+

Tracing answers where the money went. Recovery support answers whether it can be reached, who can act, what it would take, and whether the amount is worth it. Then we support the people who act.

Should I report it to the police first?+

Yes. File with the FBI at ic3.gov and with your local police. It is free, and exchanges freeze accounts when the police or a court asks. Those reports often sit unanswered until the money is gone, which is where the trace comes in. We give the investigator the path the money took and something to act on now.

Do you work with my lawyer, the detective, or my insurer?+

Yes. We send the report to whoever is acting for you, join the call when asked, and answer their questions on the findings. Our investigators have ongoing working relationships with Treasury, Secret Service, FBI, and IRS investigators.

I do not have a lawyer. Can you help me find one?+

Yes. When the matter needs counsel, we help you engage a lawyer who handles this kind of case, and we give them the trace to work from.

The government seized money from the scam. Do I get some of it?+

Not automatically. A claim has to show your loss and the transactions behind it. We help you file that claim, with the trace as the record of your loss.

Someone contacted me offering to recover my money. Is it real?+

Treat it as the second scam if they contacted you first or already knew how much you lost. The same applies if they want payment up front or in crypto, or asked for your seed phrase. Send us what they sent you and we will tell you what we see.

What should I not send?+

Private keys, seed phrases, or remote access to your devices. Veil does not ask for them, and a firm that does is a warning sign.

How is the work priced?+

Flat-rate pricing is available once scope is confirmed, and the agreed price holds unless the scope materially changes. The fee is for the assessment, the report, and seizure claim facilitation.
